East Ayrshire Council in association with EP Music announce the return of Unsigned: Battle of the Bands.

Following the success of the Unsigned competition last year as part of the Amplify festival, which saw the triumph of local band The Symptoms, bands are again invited to compete for a coveted support spot at King Tuts in Glasgow.

To be considered send your demo to East Ayrshire Council by the closing date of 3rd October. A panel of judges will then select bands to go forward to a live battle of the bands nights in Kilmarnock’s Grand Hall. Like last year, the selected bands will battle it out on Saturday 25 October, with the audience and a panel of judges deciding who will make the shortlist. The winning acts will then be put to an online public vote.

Previous winners the Cider Spiders and The Symptoms played a support slot at King Tuts in Glasgow and have gone from strength to strength, including playing the T Break stage at 2007 T in the Park and Live at Loch Lomond in 2008.

To enter this year’s competition send demos to UNSIGNED, The Palace Complex, 9 Green Street, Kilmarnock, KA1 3BN by the closing date of 3rd October 2008.
